Did you know that nationally only 4% of career firefighters are women?? Well, not in Berthoud!! BFPD is incredibly proud of the fact that over 20% of our career staff is female, and now they’re famous…featured in a cover story from the Berthoud Surveyor about what it’s like to work in a male dominated field and their experiences at Berthoud Fire. These young women make us all very proud for their service and commitment to the District.

Promotions!

The District has recently promoted 6 members of our staff, who were all recognized at a badge pinning ceremony on October 25, 2022.

We congratulate our newly promoted Lieutenant, Jim Thompson. Lieutenant Thompson has been a with the District since 2015 and will be one of two Lieutenants on C shift.

Five of our firefighters were also promoted to Engineer. We congratulate Jasmine Crane, Marshall Massaro, Jourdon Mazur, Tori Schneider, and Kyle Stricklin.

BFPD hires 5 new Reserve Firefighters!!!

We are very happy to announce our latest recruitment effort resulted in the hiring of six new reserve firefighters for the District. They come from a variety of backgrounds and experience, all the way from fresh out of academy to more than 20 years of experience and will prove to be an excellent addition to our ranks. Please welcome AJ Nellis, Ryan Oakes, Ryan Shupe, Dylan Wood, and Jeremy Young.
