BFPD hires 6 new Reserve Firefighters!!!

We are very happy to announce our latest recruitment effort resulted in the hiring of six new reserve firefighters for the District. They come from a variety of backgrounds and experience, all the way from fresh out of academy to more than 20 years of experience and will prove to be an excellent addition to our ranks. Please welcome Nick Anderson, AJ Nellis, Ryan Oakes, Ryan Shupe, Dylan Wood, and Jeremy Young.

Lt. Nate Aldersea

Lieutenant Nate Aldersea, who has been serving the District and community for more than 16 years has announced his resignation to take advantage of an opportunity with a neighboring fire department. In his tenure at Berthoud Fire, Nate served as an intern, firefighter, Engineer, public safety diver, Engine Boss on wildland deployments, and Company Officer. His passion for the job is unparalleled, and he will be missed. Good Luck LT!!

Wildland Season is upon us…

Berthoud Fire is ready for wildland fire season! All of our firefighters have completed their annual wildland firefighter refresher training and our type 6 and type 3 engines have been serviced in anticipation of another busy season. We recently took part in a wildland fire open house at Loveland Fire Station 7 where we got the chance to talk about prevention and mitigation with homeowners. Click on our safety tab for more info on wildfire preparedness.

Standards of Cover Update

Berthoud Fire has entered into an agreement with Emergency Service Consulting International to provide the District with an update to our Standards of Cover. While the plan has been updated annually since 2012, ESCI will conduct an organizational analysis and collect response data to establish new performance standards for our staff of 1st responders, in an effort to continually improve the service delivered to the community.

Frontline Mobile Health

The first week of June, all Operations staff will be participating in NFPA compliant firefighter physicals with Frontline Mobile Health. Berthoud Fire becomes one of several regional fire departments to provide these comprehensive health screenings to our staff, in hopes of providing for the well being of our firefighters. Frontline Mobile started providing health and wellness services to fire departments in Texas, and has recently expanded operations to northern Colorado.
