Career Firefighter-State Engine

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants Must:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid Colorado driver’s license
  • Must be able to speak English fluently
  • Pass an Accuplacer Test from one of the Regional Community colleges or possess an Associates/Bachelor’s Degree
  • Successfully complete a Skills Assessment Test through Berthoud Fire Protection District, Pass Background, Medical ,and POPAT or possess a current CPAT
  • Hold the following Certifications:
    • Firefighter I/State of Colorado/IFSAC/PRO BOARD *
      • Haz Mat Operations/state of Colorado/IFSAC/PROBOARD*
      • CPR/American Heart Association
      • NWCG S130/190 Red Card
  • Hold or obtain within 12 months of hire EMT Basic Certification
  • Obtain within 2 years of hire Firefighter II/State of Colorado, driver Operator       Utility/NFPA 1002

This unique position will work 40 hours per week as support to State Wildland Engine as may be necessary and work with Career FF staff responding to all other calls, Fires, MVA’s, Medical, Citizen Assist when not working with the state engine. This position may have the opportunity to be assigned to a 48/96-hour shift temporarily as need through-out the year.

Starting annual Wages:  $56,569.00
