Did you know that nationally only 4% of career firefighters are women?? Well, not in Berthoud!! BFPD is incredibly proud of the fact that over 20% of our career staff is female, and now they’re famous…featured in a cover story from the Berthoud Surveyor about what it’s like to work in a male dominated field and their experiences at Berthoud Fire. These young women make us all very proud for their service and commitment to the District.
The District has recently promoted 6 members of our staff, who were all recognized at a badge pinning ceremony on October 25, 2022.
We congratulate our newly promoted Lieutenant, Jim Thompson. Lieutenant Thompson has been a with the District since 2015 and will be one of two Lieutenants on C shift.
Five of our firefighters were also promoted to Engineer. We congratulate Jasmine Crane, Marshall Massaro, Jourdon Mazur, Tori Schneider, and Kyle Stricklin.
