The area that the Berthoud Fire Protection District covers includes several lakes and reservoirs - and we all know that when the winter cold rolls in, it brings the ice with it. Berthoud Fire Protection District's "Dive Rescue Team" does its best to maintain the highlest level of training within the District's capabilities to provide the best service possible during a dive/ice rescue call. Many hours are spent both in the classroom as well as in the water, may it be in the summer sun, or winter ice. Every firefighter in the department is involved in dive specific training, but a group of nine individuals that make up the "team" attend more intensive instruction.
